The surgical centre:
IOCAB Advanced Surgical Ophthalmic Institute of Barcelona is a centre for outpatient ophthalmological surgery authorised by the Generalitat of Cataluña in March 2000. It is equipped with the technology and the professionals necessary to provide a dynamic, effective and personal service to the Ophthalmologist and his or her patients.
The surgical unit of the IOCAB Advanced Surgical Ophthalmic Institute of Barcelona consists of two operating theatres, a pre-anaesthesia room, material sterilisation area and post-operative recovery room. The operating theatres comply with current legislation for the performance of ophthalmological surgery with well defined "clean" areas, the practice of sedation (not general anaesthetic), with medical personnel, resuscitation kit, basic cardiopulmonary kit and defibrillator.
